Whether you’re a waxing veteran or virgin, here’s what you need to know before you go in for your wax:
- You’re in good hands. I’m licensed, highly-trained, and a very nice person. 🙂 I’ll make sure you’re safe and comfortable.
- We have some house rules:
- Please do not bring your children to your appointment. The space is small and quiet, and our services are discreet. If you have one or two tag-a-longs who are able to sit quietly with a book while you get your treatment, that should be ok.
- No Show Policy: Clients that cancel with less than 24 hours’ notice will be charged a fee of 50% of the service price; a no-show will be fined the price of the service. (A no-show is defined as not coming to your appointment, giving less than one hour’s notice of cancellation, or being more than 5 minutes late.) Groupon clients that no-show or reschedule with less than 24 hours’ notice may be subject to the same fees or having their voucher redeemed.
- My business is founded on mutual trust and respect between me and my clients. Many of my services require a degree of vulnerability, and I will treat you with the utmost care, consideration, and discretion; I expect the same degree of professionalism from my clientele.
- Waxing clients: you have some prep work –>
- DO NOT shave – or trim to less than half an inch – for at least 3 weeks before your appointment. If the hair is less than 1/4 inch, it is too short to be waxed.
- DO NOT tan – in a tanning bed or on your porch – for at least 72 hours before or after your appointment. It puts you at high risk of skin lifting and photo damage.
- DO disclose whether you’re on retinol, Accutane, blood pressure meds, or any other anti-acne or skin-thinning drug.
- DO let me know if you’ve been on antibiotics within 30 days and DO NOT schedule a waxing appointment until you’ve completed the round for at least 3-4 weeks.
- DO consider an over the counter lidocaine ointment or anti-inflammatory – with your doctor’s permission, of course – an hour before your appointment to reduce pain. Most of my clients are just fine without these, but if you’re highly sensitive, they can be helpful.
- DO feel free to call or text with any questions or concerns before or after your appointment. My job is make sure you’re educated on the process and happy with your results.
